Capital Punishment: A neccessary deterrent or Uncivilized evil

No one in the world is perfect, they usually done something wrongs during their lives time. The mistakes that people commit are different from one to another and the weights of their faults are varied. Some people commit some serious mistakes that the world or law cannot forgive them, so they would likely to get capital punishment. In general words, capital punishment is the death penalty. The law in some countries such as Cambodia, do not have capital punishment law at all due to the number of its citizens are very low which caused by the Khmer Rouge that has killed millions of its nonsense citizens already in the past. Otherwise, most of the countries around the world still have capital punishment law. There are many arguments about whether the capital punishment is a necessary deterrent or an uncivilized evil. In my opinion, capital punishment is a necessary deterrent.
To begin with the idea that capital punishment is a necessary deterrent. Firstly, capital punishment could help residents to live in safer communities. In this way, we need extreme penalty in order to make people aware of committing crimes. According to George, the death penalty helped produced a dramatic drop in violent crime within one year in New York after the release of the death penalty law (George, 1997). Secondly, it is unfair to the victims who death by murder. The assailants should paid what they have done back. Everybody on the earth wants to live, but they have killed others; hence, they should pay their lives back in a return to their commitments. In my view, life or 15 years imprisonment is also not fair enough to the murderers; only capital punishment can give a fair justice to the victims. Thirdly, death penalties can save lives. In this respect, we can avoid from repeated murders and foreseeable murders are deterred. People are feared to death more than life imprisonment in the commonsense notion of people (Stephen, 2002). I have realized that most of the convicted murderers usually seek to avoid execution by appealing to reduce their sentence to life imprisonment. This shows that the capital punishment is feared more than life imprisonment and it seems that it works effectively to reduce the number of crimes than life imprisonment; even though, we cannot prove conclusively that the death penalty deters murder. As a result, capital punishment does deter people due to all of these reasons.
Moving onto the idea that capital punishment is an uncivilized evil. There are some people said that some of the murderers are unplanned and impulsive. In this respect, some of the criminals commit a crime without thinking further punishment because of their anger or emotional sense. It is hard to maintain human’s feeling. I have noticed myself and many of my teenager friends too; it is really hard us to control ours feeling. Mostly, teenagers are easily to get the effect by their emotional rather any other ages. However, we should control our emotion wisely in order to act as a human. Remove our anger or other emotions by violence are not a good deal at all. I think that there is only a small portion of murderers that committed crime by unplanned and impulsive. Dan wrote, “Very few people would seek out an opportunity to kill others” (Dan, 2011). As a consequence, the idea that murderers are unplanned and impulsive is unlike to acceptable for me. There is also another idea that against capital punishment is that we cannot bring the victims back, so we do not really need to kill more people. This idea is getting support by some religious as well.  In some religious, it advices its followers not to take revenge. As I have mentioned above, people should paid back what they have done and it is seem unfair to the victims as the murderers could not get executed. Consequently, I strongly disagree with the opponents’ ideas as murderers are unplanned and impulsive or we should not take revenge.
In conclusion, capital punishment is a necessary deterrent for me due to the reason that it facilitates people to live in a safer condition, bring justice to the victims, and save lives. Additionally, death penalty is feared people more than life imprisonment which could lead into the reducing in criminal. Although, I agree with the opponents claim that the court sometimes commit mistakes to give innocence people the death penalty, but the mistakes are very minimize that could lead to wrong judgments. Thus, the court should investigate carefully before making the decision to give someone the capital punishment in order to avoid punish innocence people or the faults are not appropriate to get capital punishment.
